Workin for a Livin. (Do I have to?)

So my "vacation" is almost over. The Dr. has cleared me to start using my left hand again. Said it will still hurt for awhile and it will be about 6 more weeks until it's fully healed; but I'm good to start working again. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this. I gotta work, we is broke; and with the moving and wedding and everything coming up we need the monies. And I do kind of miss work and lots of the people there. However, I'm not entirely happy there. I feel (and have been told by some of the managers) that for the quality of work I do and the level of resonsibility I have, I'm underpaid. And I'm not getting enough hours. It's the type of job I want; just not in the place I want to be. And not working the past two and a half weeks has been pretty sweet! Not stressing about work, and being able to see Dusti and the kids more has been a lot of fun. It's really reaffirmed my feelings that I would like to be able to work from home; or at the very least, work at a job parttime and be at home more doing something I want to do.

If only I knew what that something was...

It's the weekend update

Everyone is still upstairs asleep or being quiet so I thought I'd take some time for a quick update.

Worked yesterday, it went alright I suppose. Was able to get more done than I did on Tuesday without feeling like I was gonna faint or my finger hurting too bad. however, having not been there for awhile and going back has made me realize how not very happy I am there. I have good opportunities there, I'm just not sure it'll be worth the hassle to get there.

We have the kids this weekend. Which means Tae Kwon Do class today. It's funny watching them do it. I'm not really sure if martial arts is gonna be a big thing for any of them; but they seem to enjoy it and are learning some valuable stuff.

We watched The Last Mimzy last night. What a weird movie! I don't quite get the point it wants to make. I understand the whole, "technology and work are tearing families apart and isolating everyone"; but that movie has a weird way of trying to prove that point. Have you seen it? Does is make sense to you?

Tomorrow is Easter for us with Dusti's family. Eggs have been filled and I'm sure it's gonna be a good time. Lots of food and drink, and Jared and I will sit around talking about Dr. Who! (Maybe I should wear my suspenders and bow tie and bring my sonic screwdriver!)

I go back to the Dr. on Tuesday. Hopefully he will tell me I can go back to work. Until then, I only have two days again next week. I'm gonna try to be more productive this week than the last two!

Peaceoutside, I'm off like a prom dress!

So, that's what I did last Monday. Knives are sharp kids; make sure you're paying attention when you are using one!
I figured since I'm obviously not gonna be working for a bit; I'd take a minute to post my annual update. Lots of excitement happening right now!
We're moving! We bought a house! It's big and old and pretty and there's a huge yard for playing and bonfires and parties and gardening. Closing is on April 30th, consider yourself invited over for a housewarming party! We're pretty excited about this. It's a place that will be ours and we can do what we want with. It's an old house, built in 1915 but it's only had one owner (well, the grandson of the people who had it built owns lives there now but it's been in the family the whole time.) It's been kept up beautifully. Tons of oak trim everywhere, the dining room is pretty fantastic looking. There will be lots of pictures posted once we get in and start getting settled.
October is coming! We've kind of stalled on wedding planning since we started house hunting but we'll be getting back into it full swing now I'm sure. We have the location and caterer decided but that's about it. Dusti is trying to find the right dress and I'm trying to convince myself that I will enjoy being all dressed up and fancy!
Work is...work. Lots of frustrations, but I think there's some good potential for me there. I've also got my wheels spinning on some other ideas; and still holding out for my goal as a professional lottery winner or internet celebrity!
The vicodin is starting to kick in, and typing without a middle finger is kind of hard so I think that's all for now. Maybe I'll be back soon, gonna try to keep up on this blog thingy. I have some plans on what I would like to do with this thing.
Peaceoutside, I'm off like a prom dress.

I'm being creative again!

So, Dusti has been doing a lot of photo shoots lately. Which means she has lots of pictures of her sitting on our computer. I got the idea a few days ago to write a snippet of a story for some of them. This is the first one I did. Hopefully the inspiration for more comes soon!

The Dealer
She dealt the cards with a barely concealed fury. Each one flew off the top of the deck like it was shot out of a gun. It had been five days and her anger had still not subsided. She took a deep breath to calm herself; she had to focus on work. As the hours went by she slowly began to work out a plan. She smiled; an evil, vindictive smile. She would have her revenge. The house always wins!
